Privacy

Cargotchi is an early, invite-only alpha. This is a plain-language summary of how we handle your data — not yet a lawyer-reviewed privacy policy. A full policy will be published before any broad public launch.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Tesla vehicle data: once you link your Tesla account and grant access, we receive telemetry from the Tesla Fleet API — things like battery and charge state, range, location, speed, climate, lock and Sentry status, tire pressures, and software version.

We don't ask for anything we don't use to show you your car and run your pet.

How we use it

Your telemetry powers the telemetry views — drives, charges, battery health, Sentry events, and vehicle health — and drives your pet's state. That's it. We never sell your telemetry, and we don't share it with anyone beyond Tesla (the source) and the infrastructure we run to operate the service.

How long we keep it

Raw telemetry snapshots are kept for 30 days, then summarized and the raw originals are purged. Aggregates — like your battery-health trend — persist so your history stays useful over time.

Reading only — never control

Cargotchi only reads data from your car. It never sends commands — no unlock, climate, honk, or summon — and it is built to never wake a sleeping car.

Your controls

  • Disconnect Tesla (Settings → Tesla) revokes our access and stops the telemetry stream right away.
  • Delete your account (Settings → Danger zone) is a full delete within 48 hours — including revoking our Tesla access and unsubscribing your car from our telemetry stream.

Your data is scoped to your account; one tester can never see another's car.
